Question Graphic My Windows XP HyperPen intermittently loses power or stops working. (USB port)
Answer Graphic

Windows XP has the facility to disable the USB port if it thinks that it is running low on power and this can be coupled with the mouse pointer jerking across the screen when you move the mouse.

You can disable this feature from within the Hardware Devices, USB device, but it frequently indicates that you are pushing your power supply beyond its limits and we would suggest running the tablet through a powered USB hub.
